The Australian Drovers are a breed unto themselves and while we have long fantasised about the folklore and stories surrounding the life of the Drover, the sad fact is that this legendary era of Australian History has all but disappeared. The image of the Drover, a solitary figure seeking an existence in a beautiful but hostile environment, represents a cornerstone of Australia’s character. The Drover is a symbol of freedom that has inspired generations. Those who remain are growing old. With every passing year their numbers diminish, and each death marks the loss of living memory of how things used to be.

In an attempt to cling to this rich history, a group of devoted droving disciples are facilitating a project to enable a team of men from a bygone era to ride along the iconic stock routes from Queensland, across the Northern Territory and into Western Australia,                one last time.

 The aim is to provide an opportunity for these men to relive the glory days, share the yarns that moulded an industry and capture the joy and the pain yielded from the memories awoken. 

A RIDE TO REMEMBER will embellish the opportunity to reflect while creating new lasting memories for those left behind long after the last drover is laid to rest.

The ride will cover a distance of approximately 1000miles through some of the most remote and isolated areas Australia has to offer. Led by the Drovers themselves, we hope to rediscover some of the lost treasures that have been buried, overgrown with lancewood and bullwaddy, eaten by termites or simply forgotten about over time. The entire journey will be captured on film and on return shall be compiled into a well produced documentary to be used as an entertaining, informative and inspiring production to showcase an industry that helped shape a nation

A RIDE TO REMEMBER is taking place from the 1^st of May departing Camooweal and arriving  in the Kimberley around the 4^th of June.

Obviously a journey of this proportion requires stringent planning and logistical organisation, which is well underway. A support crew has been assembled consisting of all the skills required to make this a successful adventure. To help fund the project we are seeking financial and in kind support from the community.
